Yay

I just wanted to post on my weight loss progress....my starting weight was a horrid 188....today i weighed in at 183. That is a total of 5 lbs in less than 2 weeks. It seems like i'm losing about 1/2lbs a day. I'd have to say thats pretty damn good!

In other news I finally have a happy baby. No more reflux meds...now shes just on crazy expensive formula, but i'm just happy she's happy:) Last night she slept from 1am-7am straight! It would be nice if she would do that every night.

Houston....We've Got Smiles

So I posted last week about the whole reflux crabby baby thing....well it all started w/ Alyssa being incredibly crabby and seeming to be in pain, so I called the doc and asked if i could switch her formula to soy because that's what morgan was on. So she had been on that since last week. Then I took her for her "reflux", she's been on those meds since tuesday. So one would think that i should have a happy pain free baby...NOPE. So i've come to the conclusion that she's colic. She was whiny all day long, and wouldn't sleep unless i was holding her. I knew there was something wrong. So i took it upon myself to switch her formula yet again. I put her on Similic Alimentum, it's a hypoallergenic formula for colic babies. She's literally had 9 ozs. and look what she give me!!!

I wouldn't say she's felling 100% better, she's still whiny, but what an improvement already. The formula says relief w/in 24hrs, so i'm excited to see what tomorrow has in store for me. Hopefully a happy baby girl!

Professional Pics

We had Alyssa's baby pics done this past weekend at Olan Mills. I got a special package price so I couldn't resist. These are the 3 that we chose. The one of her up close is the one we got all the family members. And I absolutly love the one of todd kissing her.

Crabby Patty

So far this week I have been to the doctor twice and spent a total of $76.

Visit #1....On Monday I saw something white on Alyssa's lip, I thought it was left over formula but it wouldn't wipe off, then I saw it on her upper gums. Thrush, damnit. So I took her to the doc and got meds.

Visit #2....After a total of 4 hrs of screaming in pain i took her back the next day and we were told she could possibly have reflux. Something I'm very familar w/ because Morgan had reflux, but Morgan spit up all the time and alyssa doesn't. The doc warned me that it would take a week or two to see if her symptoms improve but it seemed to help her almost instantly. Thank God. I felt so terrible for this baby. She would be so hungry but when she was trying to eat she would let out cries of pain, I honestly thought it was just bad gas, but then i did some research about reflux and she has all the symptoms except for spitting up. So my 4 week old baby has now switched formula because of gas (prob didn't have to do that...switched because of gas or so i thought), and is on 2 different medications right now. Poor baby. I know reflux tends to go away once a baby can sit up on its own, but these meds are pricy. $31 for one month. that's just crazy to me, but if it makes her feel better i will spend as much as i need to.

Oh yeah my piggy weighed in at 8lbs 15ozs. She's a load!

hmm

My baby girl is almost 1 month old! I wanted to post just to say that she slept 5 1/2 hrs straight last night. I feel so refreshed today. Hopefully it wasn't some sort of one night only thing. She also cooed at me this morning, it was so cute. She smiles a little now, not sure if it's gas or not...but i don't care why she's smiling. Its the most beautiful thing to see that smile and her cute little dimples!

best invention ever!!!!

My dad took Morgan, Alyssa and I to Toys R Us today to get morgan a new bike...i was checking out the baby section and I came across this...The Dipstik! For those of you who have kids you know what its like when they eat ice cream on a cone or a popsicle. This thing is so neat...one end has a spot for the cone and if you flip it over it has a spot for a popsicle stick and they hold it in the middle. Therefore the dipstik catches all the mess from dripping and it doesn't get all over their hands!!!! I guess i am officially a loser when i am so excited about something like this, but i am so excited. I am going to make sure morgan has some sort of ice cream today just to see how it works.

Oh yeah, my pills came today and i took one around 1:30....i honestly feel like i could run circles around anyone right now. I wouldn't say i'm jittery, just incredibly wound up and really don't want to sit still. So i am going outside on a beautiful day to attempt to put a bike together. Hopefully the wheels don't fall off when i'm done.

Ahh! Sleep

Alyssa is now a little over 3 weeks old. And she is the most wonderful baby. She doesn't cry much unless it's for her bottle, or she has some gas. And now she kind of has a sleeping pattern and knows the difference between day and night. The past 2 nights she has slept 4 1/2 hrs straight. She'll go down between 11:30 and 12 and wake up between 4 and 4:30. The only thing that sucks about her going down at 11:30 is that she's up for like 3 hrs before that so i can't get to bed early, but i really can't complain.
I got my scale the other day...i will eventually post what the number was when i stepped on it, but not until i lose some weight, but anyway i stepped on it then stepped off and picked up the baby then stepped back on..u get the point...anyway she weighs like 9 lbs. Wow! She is getting chubby:)
So here are a couple of updated pics, i don't have a lot of Alyssa awake cuz she really doesn't take good pics yet....the camera makes her look really chubby and bigger than she is, i'm hoping to take some today of her first walk because they want it so beautiful.

The infamous chair...the only way she will take long naps
